Locations in BinderLess are digital representations of physical places within a building or a construction site. They allow for the precise assignment of documentation and other resources to specific areas, increasing data transparency and eliminating the limitations of traditional file cataloguing. The Location module improves the identification of documentation, material requests, project inquiries, and change orders, significantly enhancing information management efficiency in the construction process.
Using the Location module in BinderLess starts with creating a project location tree. This is a hierarchical structure of standard locations that users will use within a given project.
Defining and deleting these locations is only possible for the Project Administrator, ensuring consistency and uniform data organisation.
To start working with it, go to the Locations module and click Add Location.
Upon clicking, a new window will open, where you need to:
Assign a name to the new location,
Optionally link it to an existing map location by going to the Map tab (1), selecting the area or point marking method (2), and marking it on the map (3).
Optionally attach project documents, such as a floor plan, room diagram, or building site drawing. To do this, go to the File tab (1) and select the document (2) to be assigned to the created location.
After filling in all the information, click Save button ****to save the data.
After creating a location, a dedicated view for that place will appear in the module (1). In this view, a user can see the assigned area on the map or reference drawing (2), which makes it easier to navigate the project structure. Additionally, information about all resources associated with the given location (3) is available, including files, material requests, change orders, or project inquiries. This allows users to monitor the entire documentation and change history related to a specific location in one place.
